GSTHC 50th Anniversary Hunt Update (August 29, 2024)

 

Things are firming up for the hunt on November 3rd, 2024 with updated hunt details below.  We have a solid base of participants but there are still openings.  If you have been on the fence...sign up now.  If you have a friend who's interested please share this with them so they can join you at this historic event!  Hunts on this day will include the following; 

 

Warm up Hunt

The warm up hunt will feature a mad scramble for pennies.  No digging is required.  Cash prizes for marked coins range from $20 to $100 bills with many chances to find a keeper.

 

Main Hunt

Thanks to our great sponsors for their generous donations and our volunteers keeping our costs low, this hunt will be heavy on silver and prizes and light on "just clad".  There will be plenty of targets to dig with over 80% of the value in silver, detector gear and other great items.

• Grand token prize of the hunt will be a XP Deus II metal detector that retails for over $1000

• Constitutional "junk" silver to include quarters, halves and even silver dollars

• Detecting items include multiple high quality diggers / scoops, pin pointers and much more

• Other items such as gift certificates to local businesses, scales and more

Silver & Gold Hunt (Optional $50 fee)

We've upped the grand prize to a 1/4oz gold coin with a second 1/10th oz.  Silver will include 1 oz silver rounds and bars, US Silver Dollars and halves.

 

Natural Hunt

Many have asked if we will also include a natural hunt in the schedule.  Given this is old ground there may be an opportunity for those not participating in the silver and gold hunt to do a side hunt for any natural items.  The location at the site would be determined once we get closer to the day of the hunt.

 

Raffles

We have other items that we will be raffling off including an Equinox 900 graciously provided by Minelab and other items.
